The Very Narrow Radical Divide Between Evangelicalism and Racism

Do you prefer White Jesus or Donald Trump? Who would you vote for if Louis Farrakhan was Trump's running mate in 2020? Choose: Gay Lover or White Christian Klansman?

I must admit, I had a dark moment when President Obama was in office, and that is when he went well and far beyond the scope of what many refer to as “Christianity” in endorsing gay marriage.

They lit the White House up in rainbow colors and dubbed him “The First Gay President.” Truth is, at some point, the United States of America will have a gay president whether people know it when it happens or not; but it was extremely embarrassing to a LOT of Black folks and I mean A LOT.

Here’s the thing…

There is a list of 10 (Ten) Commandments and a list of seven (7) things God “hates,” and not one of those things mentions homosexuals or homosexuality. For example,

The Ten

1 You shall have no other Gods but me.
2 You shall not make for yourself any idol, nor bow down to it or worship it.
3 You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God.
4 You shall remember and keep the Sabbath day holy.
5 Respect your father and mother.
6 You must not commit murder.
7 You must not commit adultery.
8 You must not steal.
9 You must not give false evidence against your neighbor.
10 You must not be envious of your neighbor’s goods. You shall not be envious of his house nor his wife, nor anything that belongs to your neighbor.

The Seven

Proverbs 6:16-19(NIV)
16 There are six things the Lord hates,
seven that are detestable to him:
17 haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
19 a false witness who pours out lies
and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.

Close Examination

On close examination, the things the Lord “hates” and the 10 Commandments include nothing about homosexuality, not a word. That said, is homosexuality “okay” by God because it is not on the lists of “Thou Shalt Nots” and “God Hates”? Absolutely not.

But also, after that VERY ‘dark moment’ with Obama was over, I had to remember (a) that there is a difference between state-sanctioned marriage and Godly marriage. (In state-sanctioned marriage, one may be allowed to marry a pig, a wall, a dog, or even a blow up doll, or whatever is socially en vogue at the moment. In Godly marriage, that is STRICTLY between a man and a woman-period). I had to (b) Keep my eyes on the prize … why did I vote for him?

It certainly wasn’t the color of his skin, it was content of his character.

He was far better than what we had before and he had to overcome hurdles that had never been required of other candidates, simply because of his race and his father’s homeland. He was on pace with nearly EVERYTHING I believed (at that time) that America could be. I had hope that it was a better nation than its racist past, but -alas- it was not to be. Turned out Black people were right…again.

With two caveats, or sentiments, that happened in 2016.

Black folks that said …
1) Whew! Glad Hillary lost! and
2) We’ve seen worse racists than Trump, and they had more leverage at that time than he does now.

oKKK.

Closer Examination

It wasn’t the first time I was afforded an opportunity to vote for a Black man or woman, but it was the first time, in my mind, that there was an actual VIABLE candidate with a platform I agreed with wholeheartedly. At first I did, then it got screwy.

The thought never occurred to me that he would take any other stance -as far as gay marriage was concerned- that other presidents had not taken in the past. It was his first hiccup or bump in the road, and it took me a LONG minute to get over it, but I did.

He lost a LOT of Brownie points in the Black community with that one, and so did his wife. One thing the Black community is not guilty of is being a huge support system for gays. At that instance, dark and somber moods turned to plain vitriolic towards him, but me? I got over it with a quickness, like the next morning. Many Black people took that as a cold bucket of water that he poured on our corporate head.

In my childhood, gays were there, but they weren’t.

We knew who most of the gay people were in our ‘hood, we just didn’t pay them all that much mind, and we definitely did NOT consider them to be “disenfranchised” by any stretch. They had more money, better jobs, and big status in Hollywood – bigger status than Black men or women did. So unless someone was being excessively judgmental and/or harshly condemning, Black people are totally guilty of mostly ignoring them all. We had and have bigger problems to deal with.

The biggest friend and supporter of a gay person will typically be, or always seems to be, at least, a white woman. White people, period. And foreigners.

Untwisting The Head Game

While President Obama lost traction with Black people over that, he gained traction with gays – mainly white lesbians and homosexuals.

In 2012, they largely covered for that big phat slice of Black Vote pie that President Obama had in 2008. By his second term, he already knew he was better off kowtowing to the gay community because Black folks were outdone. He had his die-hards, but he lost a lot of Black votes in Season 2…many of them Black “evangelicals” who refused to vote at all the second round.

Me? I saw the bigger picture.

Whatever issues gays were having was not one of my issues. I wasn’t one of them and I had no particular “christian” convictions that would make me hate homosexuals enough to advocate stonings and lynchings ad beatings and brainwashing as a treatment and all that other jazz they were hollering about.

THOU SHALT NOT KILL is an actual REAL commandment, not a man-made one.

Nothing in there that says “Thou shalt not be gay or support homosexuality,” but I also know my place in the conversation.

I’m not one of them. #notmyissue. I’m not their god or their guide, and homosexuality is older than I am, by a couple of fortnights and then some. I ain’t doing it, that’s all I need to know or care about. The End.

Besides, as I read The 10 and The 7, I noticed that Christians and evangelicals are FAR MORE guilty of breaking those Commandments and becoming the things God “hates” than any gay person I’d ever met.

Now This Racism Thing

What I did pay a lot of attention to is how nasty and vile and vicious and obscenely racist the typical skin haters were the entire eight years President Obama was in office.

It got so bad at one point that they (the powers that be) actually withheld jobs just to keep him from getting credit for what he had done. They literally SAID out loud and in the open in many instances that they had jobs and work available, but they weren’t hiring anyone until that ‘n*&&er’ was out of office.

WE still weren’t hiring at the time, so we could not cover the histrionic job losses; but we usually never are.

President Obama had recovered the nations’ economy from the near-DEPRESSION bank robbery levels that George W. Bush almost drove it into, but all they were focused on was their own white hot jealousy and hatred of him, AND admittedly, it wasn’t JUST race, but also the fact that he believed that billionaires should not get away with paying 15-percent taxes on income or profits while the woman or man with a $50k annual income was paying 35 to 38-percent and could not afford health coverage.

He was absolutely right about the way the economy was robbed and he was absolutely right about predatory lenders and economic theft and graft and who was being hurt by it – American workers of all races.

But they never heard that .. they heard what people are hearing now when they read this, what they WANT to hear. Not what he said.

However, in a world where the n-word is easily replaced with the word “liberals” and meant to include anyone who agrees with an n-word -I mean, ‘liberals’- it wasn’t all that hard to see that the color of his skin TRUMPED the content of his character.

So many years after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., it was incredibly hard to believe that we sat here and experienced -in this day and age- basically the same world that we lived in in the 1950s and 1960s, before and after, only this time it was updated with Internet, wifi, Googol speed searches and MEMES.

Moment of Truth

I wanted to see healthcare reform happen, and clean energy and infrastructure jobs. I wanted GITMO closed. It was stupid. Yet, President Obama was so busy infighting with racist saboteurs and Black people who were helping them that those next four years blew by with barely one of those major initiatives finished. He could have gotten a lot more done if he had not had to deal with their kind and the Black people who nearly repeated verbatim everything the racists were saying just because it made them feel better about nothing important.

Black Generatives:“What did Obammy do for Blat peepulls?”
White Racists, CARPE DIEM: “Yes, what did Obammy do for you Blah peepull?”

The hayride of GASLIGHTING Black people to oblivion was on like popcorn.

Once they saw that they could use that anger and mistrust and misunderstanding, with African Americans all “in their feelings” -AGAIN- to divide and conquer, they went for the gusto and won the moment.

Where Did The Split Happen Exactly?

The split happened when Black folk took their eyes off the ball. We forgot to focus on what we needed done instead of what he did or did not do that we didn’t ‘LIKE’. The racists that beset him knew just where to strike us, and how to cut him off at the pass as they trotted along their merry way.

Next thing we knew, Maxine Waters and crew were all over America with limousine jobs buses trying to save their jobs, and her ass.

Once they got re-elected, the jobs and the buses went away. Nevermore the Raven-wheeled bus. The Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) didn’t do much to stop the Obama bleed, that much was certain.

Just Because I Said I Would Leave This Trump Mess Alone…

…doesn’t mean I have any intention of voting for him.

He’s broken a MINIMUM of seven (7) of those 10 Commandments in REAL TIME.

He has done at LEAST six (6) of the seven (7) things God “hates” in the past TWO years. Let’s not even start talking about the way he’s lived his entire life. It’s not past and over – it’s current events and his FUTURE, almost without repentance. He is thoroughly unrepentant.

There are GAY people who live better lives on those 10 Commandments than a lot of Christians who spew venom and actually break the Commandments (the Law and the Prophets) at the same time.

It’s the reason Carlton Pearson started preaching the “gospel of inclusion,” and I simply hate to overstate the obvious, but when you are Trump-ungodly and claiming to be a Christian, the LAST thing you should be having is an issue with gay people.

Check your own reflection (man/woman in the mirror) first.

I’m Done

One thing Trump CAN get credit for–he is every bit the decrepit RANCID open book racist and the nasty sexist that he says he is. He does represent the worst of America, and he is blatantly unrepentant about it.

But he can take the hit Obama could not. He ain’t Black. Hope you heard that.

Trump has a noose around a neck alright, but its not ours. He is hanging his own base, as Chris Rock said, and they don’t even realize they’re choking. Yet. But they are going to hate him to hell and back when they get a clue and wake the freak up. They’ve never won this race fight overall, and they are not going to win it now.

They have less of a chance of winning this tug’o’war now than they did in 1862 and their chances were almost EXCELLENT in 1862. Not any more. Not even with all the conspiracy theories in the world do they have a snowball’s chance in hell of winning this racial fight this time.

I bowed to Divine Providence at the revelation when it hit me exactly what God IS doing. I doubt even Trump or Trump’s followers see it or get it, or they’d jump ship like ‘yesterday’. It’s hard out here for a pimp, especially when his last name rhymes with rump.

In the meantime … Michelle Obama [BECOMING] finally had leeway to speak about how no ‘post-racial America’ happened on her watch.

But … Will it ever? We had hope for a moment, now we don’t any more.

But we do, because … well …

Figure it out.

White Evangelicals and Hatred of Social Justice

I have NEW news for them … and it ain’t good.

They declared their non-commitment to the cause of SOCIAL JUSTICE and wrote it in blood and sealed it and delivered it as an announcement.

But …

The Bible mentions NOTHING about the United States of America, except that it is headed for almost certain self-destruction. So if God DID send Trump, as Sarah Sanders said, then the Lord God can make even a bone cold thug Jackass speak up if that’s what it takes to get the job done.

Furthermore…Trump created practically NONE of those ‘new’ jobs that seem to be all over the place all of a sudden. That is not his work to his credit.

Those are the elemental holdouts who waited for the “n-word” to leave Washington, D.C. so they could overturn President Obama’s initiatives and put the nation back where Bush left it and even worse. This will be known for sure once he is gone and he will go, that much is certain. God already got that taken care of, too.

However, never let it be said that all of the Black folks who could not find work because of racial holdouts aren’t happy the “n-word” is gone, too.

Get real. Getting off our corporate behinds ‘doing for ourselves’ was simply NOT AN OPTION, and it apparently NEVER WILL BE. Dr. Claude Anderson [POWERNOMICS] has been preaching about it for ages/decades and it ain’t happened yet.

That said, Obama didn’t do any more for Black people than they’ve done for themselves for the past 150 years, give or take a few.

He was right to turn and look the other way and mumble something about boats and rising tides, because he was damned if he did and damned if he did not. We weren’t ready for him. MLK was dead for 40 years by 2008, and we still weren’t ready, and still aren’t now. Don’t even know what we wanted from him that he didn’t do.

I told the story of how I experienced his pain on a micro-level after being consistently elected President of something-or-another. I couldn’t NOT be Class President, they kept pointing at me whenever it was election time. But … the crazy that happens afterward that stops you from doing the job you promised to do is revealing about the process, to say the least.

Okay now that you got elected, you can forget all that shit you said…” He was holding on for dear life and they threatened him to the nth degree for trying to do what he said he was going to do.

After awhile, you learn to let it go. I did. You learn to let go, especially when the people you were trying to help have already gotten over it. They just want tickets, a free ride, dinner, and a photo opp.

There is a delicate balancing act here and it’s self-refining.

People are going to have to learn to get past the toxicity and learn to respect each other again. That includes gay people and trans. They are not an exception to this “TOLERANCE” rule. Not today, not ever.

All of that radical evangelical anti-gay Christianity and Black folks still don’t have their ‘s’ together–two years post-Obama and counting…tick tock..

The End.
