Until Saturday Venus and Serena both had 4 Olympic gold medals, a record they shared! However on Saturday Venus became the second tennis plater ever to win 5 Olympic medals after she reached the mixed double finals with a player she never plays with!

At 36 she is still going extremely strong, she was paired with Rajeev Ram at the last minute.

They beat India’s Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna in the semi-final. They went onto the final against Team USA’s J. Sock and B. Mattek-Sands and ended up taking silver home!

Talking to Yahoo News she said:

“I’m used to doing this with Serena and it’s such a crazy feeling to do it with someone else,… To feel what I feel with Serena, with someone else, is a wild emotion and I never thought it would happen.”

She went onto say:

“With Serena, I expect to win; I got to be honest. And [Ram and I], never play together, and we didn’t know how we were going to play,”

Congrats to the pair and congrats to Venus on making yet more history!
