Woahhh, Shonda Rhimes wasn’t playing when she laid down a cool $10million towards a project she obviously cares about a lot!

The Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture is set to open on September 24. A favorite of President Obama (who hoped it would be done before he leaves office) the project is seen as very important by a lot of prominent people.

At an event at the home of Denzel and Pauletta Washington on the weekend Shonda made her big donation to the project.

Of the $17million raised by the Washington’s, Shonda’s contribution was the most significant.

PURE AND UTTER RESPECT for this woman putting her hard money down on the table.
