The first person to be diagnosed with Ebola in the United States died this morning. Thomas Eric Duncan had the Ebola virus in Dallas, Texas health Presbyterian Hospital.

This is the word coming from Texas Health Resources.

“It is with profound sadness and heartfelt disappointment that we must inform you of the death of Thomas Eric Duncan this morning at 7:51 am. Mr. Duncan succumbed to an insidious disease, Ebola. He fought courageously in this battle. Our professionals, the doctors and nurses in the unit, as well as the entire Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas community, are also grieving his passing. We have offered the family our support and condolences at this difficult time,” the Texas Health Resources statement said.

According to the CDC, Duncan tested positive for the Ebola virus on Sept. 30, 2014. This created a search of all people who came in contact with Mr. Duncan.

Death from Ebola is the expected result in undeveloped countries. However, we were told not to worry in America because our healthcare systems are prepared. But they didn’t work for Mr. Duncan.

Stay tuned. We will be following these developments.
