The revolution might not be televised, but it needs to be funded.

1. Supporting the victims of Tragedies

• A lot of these families struggle with burial expenses and legal fees
• A lot of these communities suffer from group depression and rage

UI wants to be able to present these families with assistance funds and present these communities the experts needed (if needed) to properly deal with their grief.  (All therapist while be of the proper consciousness for this task)

2. Supporting UI Educational Initiatives

• Black America needs to take the development of its educational programs into its own hands
• Black America needs to develop more of its own institutions of learning
• Black America needs educational programs that cater to the needs of our community

UI is in the process as we speak of developing several curricula and other educational programs.  We have several highly qualified and experienced people (Ph.d’s, former educators, former administrators) working in their spare time on these initiatives.  We have several plans one of which includes opening a school in Chicago.  But for this to work we need the funds to push these programs, and to provide resources to those that are creating them.  Is it fair that we ask people to work for us for free on their SPARE time when we can afford to accommodate them even if it’s just a little?

These are people with a unique understanding of black children and of our community needs.  The programs they are developing are specific to those needs and cater to us solely, this is desperately needed.

  We plan on plastering these programs and institutions all over the country.

3. Supporting UI Response Teams

• Black America needs boots on the ground for every tragedy that happens
• Black America needs and advocacy group solely for Black America in Every City

UI wants to put people in place to help out in times of emergency and not just in high profile cases where the camera is.  We want to be there organizing, building, feeding, providing, but most of all teaching.  People like to criticize others engaged in the struggle without thinking about the fact that when people know better they do better.  If the children in Ferguson new how to affect real change without rioting don’t you think they would have opted for that route.

But more importantly, in the midst of all this and incidences like this, we have a perfect opportunity to teach community development, group economics, and political strategy to a group of people who might otherwise not be interested.  We want to teach them how to take control of their communities and KEEP control of them so that people can prevent the next tragedy or handle it appropriately if it happens.

4. Supporting the further Development of UI

• UI is growing and we want to be more professional in appearance and status.
• UI has several visions and plans (some are mentioned above)

UI want to take it to the next level, the next level require funds.  In our goal to become the leader in black news and media we need to begin to take the steps necessary to ensure that we can cover stories as soon as they happen.  That means we need a dedicated team of writers, editors, and boots on the ground.  We also have need to pay for the increased server sizes.

We need funding to invest in the communities that we set down in and to acquire spaces in those communities for our activities.  Basically put, we need funds to help take Black America to that level that we complain no one is trying to help us get to.

We are coming to Black America with these request, not corporate America or White America, we don’t want to be beholden to anyone but Black people.  For the last 5 years this movement has been funded without asking anyone for a dime.  It has grown farther than our wildest dreams at an amazing speed, but to keep that growth going and to effect real change, we are going to need some of your change.
