James Baldwin’s notes on a book about race that he never go to finish have been used to create an upcoming documentary ‘I Am Not Your Negro’.
The documentary is highly anticipated and will have it’s premier very very soon at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival.
The film, directed by Raoul Peck is called ‘I Am Not Your Negro’, it’s based on the book that Baldwin had envisioned about important black leaders who were assassinated, Medgar Evers, Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm X.
30 pages of preliminary notes and letters to Baldwin’s literary agent were the only progress before his death but now they have been furthered with Samuel L. Jackson narrating.
So, it’ll debut in September and we can’t wait!
