UI Meme of the Day, a Daily Series…
Twice since 2008, Black America has given President Barack Obama permission to give the GOP whatever they want.
In 2010 and again in 2014. Not voting or voting for Republicans means that they can have whatever they want any way they want it, even if it kills you or all of us (literally).
Coming hot out of the gate in 2008, President Obama used the words “No excuses,” and it ‘s not like we we we didn’t have plenty of them.
Twice since 2008, Black people have told the President (by their votes or lack thereof) that he can be President all he wants, but whatever Congress does (your elected officials in your state) is just fine.
So let them continue and pick up where they left off in 2008. Just an FYI in the meantime, as they gear up to make sure we we we get what we want out of Obama for his last two years in office…
Word is out that Your Black World‘s Yvette Carnell actually excused this kind of lackadaisical behavior in the Black community by saying “Does President Obama think he can turn his back on Black people and have them come out to vote to support him?”
He said “no excuses,” and it became clear by more than a notch this electoral term what he meant by that. Carnell’s own words tell the absolute truth about Black people and excuse-making, because it was never about him. Not from Day 1. It was about us, so when we go so far as to let ‘gay marriage’ or anything else he did as President be a reason to act a butt, we tell the world and even the United Nations that there is nothing they can do about it. People who don’t control their own politics in their own states and regions can’t call “racism” when their own actions openly allow for it.
For example, Black people are very much in control of their politics in the Atlanta (GA) area, so you won’t hear that kind of noise coming out of Atlanta very much, not like you will in places like Ferguson, MO. We get it sometimes and squash it immediately. Atlanta has not seen a white mayor or white city councilman or white sheriff or white police chief around these parts in a few decades, not any with any real power; and we are absolutely not open to Republican racists one, not even if they ARE Black.
But just as a matter of information, you do see the Republican Nathan Deal as governor of Georgia, because as most folks will tell you “Atlanta is a diamond in a pig’s ass.” The level of intelligence on deciphering “the race code” is very revealing when these events come about.
FOX and the GOP made this all about them against President Obama, and then leveraged his race (and your heralded untold gall-ish racism against them) to do it. Apparently Carnell and the rest of the Black folks out here actually fell for that, or stopped giving a shyt – which is about the same thing as falling for it.
Obama said it wasn’t about him; but Black folk made it about him any way. They spooned it up and dished it out while Black America was busy watching TV instead of watching DC.
If you have access to http://whitehouse.gov like you have access to OWN and FOX and ESPN and CNN and BET and TV1, then you have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing what you just bought and paid for, or will pay for soon enough.
It just confirms that what white folks have been saying about the Black community and voting all along is too close to the truth for comfort.
They proved again that we we we voted for Obama because he was supposed to be some kind of “Black savior,” or because he IS Black … and not because we we we wanted him to give us the actual kind of government that he said we wanted. They were obviously and glaringly right, and I am glad and proud to say that I was not included in that “Black savior-mongering” crowd, as documented in 2009 (The United States of Georgia.)
As Mitch McConnell said, paraphrased and interpreted to send Black folk in America and those who support Black folk a clear message: “This lets President Obama know for sure that he must do what we want him to do and give us the government we want, not the one he wishes he could have.” Burn. Black folks actually believed Obama had “gone corporate white” when he was doing his best not to. Now he has no other choice. The end.
This mid-term season was two times in the past six years that Black America told President Obama -through their own elected state officials- that they are welcome to go to DC and let him have what you ask for, all on your behalf.
Enjoy the trickle and don’t complain when it comes. It will.
The ‘past 150 years’ continues on…Got to give the people, give the people what they want.
