The Gathering Spot written by: Lind1988 Atlanta based lawyer and entrepreneur Ryan Wilson has set up a $3 million private club for professionals and entrepreneurs in Atlanta. The members-only club which is located at 384 Northyards Blvd NW, Atlanta will be open 24/7. It will offer members an alternative work and social environment where they can access a number of amenities such as technology, bar, and restaurants and also be part of interesting and informative events. Members will also be offered concierge services. The club is known as The Gathering Spot.
Wilson saw a gap in the availability of an alternative work and relaxation setting for young professionals and decided to create one. The Gathering Spot is a luxurious setting where professionals, creatives, and entrepreneurs from various fields can come together and remain motivated as they work and unwind.
Wilson, a Georgetown University alumnae who is currently doing community organisation, was motivated to start the luxurious club by his own challenges. Himself a young professional, Wilson had difficulty finding a suitable work environment outside the office. He did not find country clubs comfortable enough to work from and coffee shops and restaurants also posed the challenge of inadequate work space. All these reasons drove him together with his business partner T.K Peterson to put up a place which would suit professionals and entrepreneurs as an alternative work space.
Wilson and Peterson managed to raise the $3 million for the project after two years of fundraising. Wilson chose Atlanta as the place to put up The Gathering Spot because it is his home place and because it has many opportunities for growth.
Wilson admits it had not been easy securing the support of investors as a young black professional. His investors however fully backed him up and are now even seeking to open similar clubs in other parts of the country.
