How President Obama And Stephen Curry Are Helping Africa On #GivingTuesday

Aside from their love of basketball, President Barack Obama and Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry share a love of Africa and giving. And they are both now on board encouraging all of us to support Giving Tuesday.

What exactly is Giving Tuesday? Giving Tuesday is an opportunity to give on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to kick off a philanthropic Christmas season. It’s a little heard of tradition started in 2012 that is slowly gaining steam.

In fact, just this past week, President Obama had this to say in his weekly address:

“There’s the generosity of Americans who take part not just in Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but Giving Tuesday — recognizing that in the holiday season, what you give is as important as what you get.”

When Stephen Curry isn’t draining three’s, he and wife Ayesha, arguably the hottest couple in the NBA, are adding fire to the Giving Tuesday cause.

In 2014, they embraced and began their #GivingTuesday tradition, honoring each of his teammates by gifting nets, and no, not basketball nets, but life saving mosquito nets to families in Africa whose lives are in constant danger of contracting malaria.
