PASTOR SPENDS $37 MILLION OF CHURCH FUNDS FOR WIFE’S MUSIC CAREER

A pastor of a Singapore megachurch, along with other church leaders, has been convicted of multi-million dollar fraud for diverting funds to support his wife’s pop career.

City Harvest Church senior pastor Kong Hee, who preaches “prosperity gospel” (blending spiritual and material aspirations), reportedly spent $37 million to advance the musical success of Ho Yeow Sun.

Sun, also known as Geisha, recorded a 2007 music video called “China Wine,” starring Wyclef Jean. The megachurch’s first lady is seen seductively dancing on the former Fugees member.

Ho, the co-founder and executive director of the church, was not charged in the case, reports Business Insider.

The 17,000-plus member church has reportedly stuck by its pastor. The church held a prayer session for Kong and others on the other officials, while Ho issued a message of support after the court ruling.

“Thank you for your unwavering faithfulness in loving God and loving one another. More than ever before, let’s have a unity that is unbreakable,” she said on the church website.
