I’m a little confused by this one myself but if you haven’t heard yet Sergeant Kizzy Adonis has been stripped of her gun and badge and is now facing internal charges in the July 2014 death of Eric Garner. No criminal charges have been brought against anyone at this point.

What has me perplexed is the fact that Sergeant Kizzy Adonis played no part in harassing Garner, placing him in a choke hold or physically taking his life but she is being charged and Pantaleo is not. I’m not excusing her behavior at all because she was there and she should have intervened when Officer Daniel Pantaleo placed Garner in an illegal chokehold. She could have actually saved his life, instead she chose to watch instead of reprimanding her subordinate in front of a crowd but now this black woman is being charged while the person who actual killed Garner is on desk duty.

I guess it goes without saying but the lesson here is the next time you see someone trying to murder your brother instead of spectating you should intervene because at the end of the day when shit hits the fan you might find yourself by yourself. Because I’m sure Officer Pantaleo is perfectly fine with Sergeant Adonis taking the fall for this. Somebody has to take the blame, right?
