If you really want to show someone how racist the USA really is to the core you gotta start digging everywhere, you don’t have to dig deep to realize that racist roots are under seemingly innocent things everywhere you look, even the use of the word marijuana! WHAT?

So the plant we are referring to is Cannabis when we say marijuana. However, marijuana was not originally cannabis and the USA’s demonization of cannabis (because native and black folks had started smoking it) seems to be the reason the word came into wide-spread use to describe weed.
