Devastated by the communities he saw affected in October by the South Carolina floods former South Carolina NFL running back Marcus Lattimore decided to do something to try and ease the pain.

Through his non-profit foundation, Marcus Lattimore Foundation/DREAMS, he decided to help out the people who lost the most. He gathered 25 children from 8 to 18 and took them on a shopping spree.

The children each received a $120 Walmart gift card and shoes from Under Armor, plus a gift bag from Walmart.

He said to WMBF:

“I just wanted to bring awareness to what’s really going on in Georgetown County,” Lattimore told .

And:

“It’s still amazing to me, the impact that I do have,” “It’s something that I don’t take lightly at all. I don’t take it for granted, and every opportunity I have to meet a kid that looks up to me in any kind of way, I’m going to take that opportunity because I know it’s going to help them.”

Well done Marcus for looking out for these kids.
