A Texas cop, Brian Encinia, who was fired for the improper arrest procedure of Sandra Bland, has also been charged with misdemeanor perjury. Sandra Bland, was then found hanging in a county jail after being arrested three days earlier and family is, justifiably, not satisfied with charge.

During her arrest, the dash camera of the police car shows Encinia pointing his taser at Bland and saying “I’m gonna light you up.

” Bland can be heard in the video screaming that he’s going to break her wrists and her head was slammed into the ground. In his defense, he claims that Bland was combative during the arrest, and he wanted her to get out of the car so that he could conduct a further investigation concerning the arrest. Which from the video we can clearly see that he escalated the situation.

Three days after being taken to the county jail, she was found dead in her cell with a bag of garbage around her neck. A medical examiner ruled the incidence as suicide and a grand jury refused to charge sheriff officials in the death. The family of Bland and other protesters are still asking questions and telling the court to find out what really happened to her.

The now Ex-cop has since pleaded not guilty to the charge of misdemeanor perjury for mishandling Bland’s arrest. The next court hearing is scheduled for May 17, and the charge carries a term of 1 year in jail with a $4,000 fine.

Do I and a lot of other people believe there was foul play? Yes, but lets say hypothetically she took her own life. What kind of charges could be brought against this man who should take some kind of responsibility for her death? Because at the end of the day she was NOT suppose to be arrested, she was NOT suppose to be in that jail cell and if he didn’t have a superiority complex she would still be here. Especially since earlier in the investigation it was found that some video footage was missing from the night of her murder, I mean death.
