Dr. Hadiyah-Nicole Green is something like a big deal. She is a physicist and an assistant professor at Tuskegee University.

There are less than 100 African American physicists in the United States and she is one of them! She is also the second African American female to receive a doctorate in physics from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. And let’s not forget she is now the recipient of a $1.1 million grant for cancer treatment research.

This something that is close to her heart because she lost her aunt and uncle to cancer. Green has a background in lasers and optics which she used to explore different treatments for cancer. She is extremely excited and honored to have won prestigious award and looks forward to find a ground breaking treatment if not a cure for cancer.

We wish you the best of luck on your endeavors Dr. Green!

Keep up to date with everything going on in the Urban Intellectuals Universe.
