Citation Dropped Against Man ‘Walking Whilst Black’ But The Officer Stays On The Job!

Last week we posted the video of an officer arresting Minnesota man Larnie Thomas, he was for allegedly walking in the middle of a street, but the sidewalk was closed off. The video showed just how bad the altercation was, from my perspective it looked like he did nothing wrong, and there was a social media storm that agreed with me! It seemed he was likely harassed because he was black! The city tried to justify the ridiculous harassment by saying he had alcohol on his breath (yeah, drinking while black is on the long list of ‘while black’ crimes now!).

Government officials have said that the citation is now dropped and a state authority is now investigating the controversial incident. However they still maintain the officer, Lt. Tim Olson, was following protocol and he is staying on the job with no reprimand, full pay, as if he did no wrong doing!

The Minneapolis NAACP made a demand that Lt. Tim Olson, be suspended without pay. However Mayor Jim Hovland responded saying Olson:

“was following established protocol.”

“However, under the circumstances, the City will review that protocol and determine how to better approach this type of incident with greater sensitivity in the future,” Hovland’s statement read. “We will work with the Edina community and invite other organizations to participate in this very important conversation. There are lessons we should and will learn from this experience.”

He said that the force will receive additional training “on implicit and explicit bias.”

And

“We would value suggestions for specific training from the Minneapolis NAACP,”

The NAACP, responded on their facebook saying:

“this is not justice, but it is a step in the right direction.”

I agree, this is BS!
