Paulette Leaphart is a heroin, she did something hardcore!

She left her hometown of Biloxi, Mississippi, on April 30th. She arrived in Washington, D.C. around June 27. That’s 1,034 miles. She did this topless. But why would anyone do this?

Now this is an amazing journey for a woman who may not have been there!

She survived breast cancer and had to have a double mastectomy. She sees her scars as an emblem of her struggle.

Also, her 8-year-old daughter Madeline came for the walk.

ESPN wrote:

All she can talk about is what will happen when she gets to Washington. Leaphart wants to tell lawmakers about the battle everyday people like her face in trying to afford treatment.

She shares the stories of other people in trouble, folks in agony, at the mercy of their insurance, unable to focus on their survival because they lack the economic means to get the treatment they need.

“Yellow is the new pink. We’re taking lemons and making lemonade,” Leaphart tells Chrystie Logan, a woman who flags her down on the side of the highway near Fredericksburg, Virginia.
