A 40 year old man originally from Congo who died in last weeks Paris attacks is being hailed a hero as it is emerging that his act of heroism saved a friend from death.
Ludovic Boumbas was one of many who died at the La Belle Equipe shooting after gunmen stormed in and opened fire. He was there celebrating a birthday meal with friends.
MailOnline reported that an unnamed friend said
“Ludo threw himself forward to protect a girl and took the bullet.”
“She was also shot, but she survived and is in hospital.”
“He loved travelling the world and above all he loved people. He was just one of life’s good, good people. He didn’t stand a chance.”
Ludovic was born in the Congo but grew up in Lille, France. He worked for FedEX Corporate Office.
He attended the birthday of a friend waitress Houda Saadi who was also killed in the attack. Her sister also died.
The woman he saved is said to be fighting for her life in hospital. Earlier unconfirmed reports said she had been in and out of consciousness and had been repeating Ludovic’s name, apparently out of guilt for her survival.
It’s clear that what Boumbas did was truly selfless and courageous. He took the care of others before himself and sadly lost his life in the process. The man is a hero.
