The lingerie and makeup industries are diversifying and becoming more inclusive. Flesh color under garments typically come in very light tones. The founder of Nubian Skin Ade Hassan was tired of searching for her perfect shade so she created lingerie for women of color. I’m sure many women of color could relate to Hassan’s struggle, “A major frustration I had was I wanted to wear something sheer or in (a) light color it’s very, very hard to find something that blended.”

It’s nice to know that we are no longer being overlooked and can have our needs met. Nubian Skin comes in four different shades, caramel, café au lait, berry, and cinnamon. Along with panties and bras they also make hosiery and carry plus sizes.
