Grammy Award winning artist Usher has raised another $1,000,098,000.00 (One million ninety-eight thousand dollars) for his long-running organization, Usher’s “New Look.”
The foundation takes youth from grade eight to post-secondary and prepares them for real world opportunities and challenges. Their basis for training students is talent, education, career, and service-related enterprises. According to their own records, all students graduate and ninety-eight percent of those who attend the New Look program go on to higher education or job placement.
Usher, with his mother’s help, started the organization in 1999 at the age of 20. Its over-arching mission is to keep students from dropping out of school and help them become gainfully employed, and the formula is working.
New Look’s partners include Paypal, Georgia Power, MGM Resorts, BrightWell Talent Solutions, the Sigmun Group, GE Foundation, Southwest Airlines, the Coca-Cola Company, Accenture, General Electric, and Bank of America, as well as many others.
