I’m not really hugely bothered about Marvel’s new show, Luke Cage. Although I do agree it’s going to be great to have a black lead superhero.

But my excitement just changed a little with some awesome news involving A Tribe Called Quest.

So it’s been revealed that the Netflix series, which will premier on Sept 30th, will be scored by Adrian Younge and A Tribe Called Quest’s Ali Shaheed Muhammad.

Talking in a recent interview for Entertainment Weekly, producer Cheo Hodari Coker broke the news. He even went as far as comparing the new show to The Wire. That’s a big name to live up to.

The pair have previously scored Black Dynamite back in 2009 and worked together for Kendrick Lamar’s “unmastered” album on the track “untitled 06 | 06.30.2014”.

I’m really looking forward to see what they turn out!
