Why You Should Switch To THIS Black Owned Credit Card…

You must have heard of One United by now? They are the biggest black owned bank in the USA. We’ve been trying to make a point that you’ve gotta put your money in black business and that means you gotta bank black too.

Alright, enough preaching. Of course, the fact is the black business should be decent and as far as we can tell One United really do give a damn about their customers and the black community.

CEO Kevin Cohee wrote:

“We are the first Black internet bank and the largest Black owned bank in the country, with offices in Los Angeles, Boston and Miami.

We were awarded the highest Bank Enterprise Award by the U.S. Department of Treasury for our community development lending ten times! We are a designated Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI).

In the past two years, we have financed over $100 million in loans – most in low to moderate income communities such as South Central, Compton, Liberty City and Roxbury. However, we never participated in subprime lending. We have always maintained strong credit criteria.”

Basically they say they are trying to get finance moving in the black communities where it’s needed.

And guess what, they have a Credit Card, the Unity Visa Secured Card, and personally I think it’s worth considering for a number of reasons. Here are a few…

pexels-photo-large#1 – The Unity Card has Credit Rebuilding at it’s core. It reports to the 3 major credit bureaus and they support all the way with rebuilding tips and a “How to Rebuild Credit” Program.

#2 – Their 17.99% interest rate (at time of writing) is a huge leap down from Wells Fargo, US Bank, Bank of America and Capital One which currently range from 19.24% to 24.99%.

#3 – It’s a Visa credit card, not a prepaid card

#4 – The competitive rate is Fixed rate, not variable

#5 – Easy online account management

#6 – No application fee or penalty rate

#7 – Security deposit FDIC insured

#8 – Application is easy, quick and clear. No BS!

I personally support this kind of card where the focus is NOT on acquiring debt but building solid credit and responsible spending.

Urban Intellectuals are promoting this card as part of an affiliate agreement and we will earn a commission but we really have personally picked this due to the status of the bank and the agenda they want to push.

Do you use this card? What are your thoughts / experiences?

    Hello,
Can you check the links to the credit card application page(s). They aren’t working for me. I would be interested in this card for a new business I want to open (a 501(c)(3). I am not an African American, however and hope this isn’t an obstacle. Thanks.
