There is that heart breaking scene in Forest Gump where he meets his little boy and is clearly outsmarted but you feel the love. Now, Elise’s parents are certainly not challenged like Forest Gump but their little girl’s smarts clearly trump theirs and at times that must be a challenge. BUT when you see the family interacting and hear them talking of their genius little girl you can’t help but feel the love.
Elise Tan Roberts has an IQ of 156. The British girl is just 4 points short of Einstein and the same as Sigmund Freud.
The little girl clearly showed a spark when at 5 months she looked at her Dad and said Dada, then she walked at 8 months, run at 10. She could read her written name at 16 months and count to 10! At 2 she was counting to 10 in Spanish and reeling off capital cities!
All this with smiles, laughter, dance and what seems like a genuinely loving family not keen on pushing but open to helping her talent develop.
So her parents looked at getting her registered for Mensa, she cruised in when her IQ was clocked at 156. You have to be in the 98th percentile or higher on a standardized, supervised IQ or other approved intelligence test to enter. That’s around 148 in normal IQ terms.
Normally you have to be 10 to be considered for Mensa but occasionally they make exceptions.
Elise, at 2, was showing a keen interest in dance and theatre so her parents were looking to get her fast tracked in this area.
She would now be 9 or 10 (born in 06) an it would be interesting to see how she is doing.
