This 10 Year Old Is Empowering Peers With “I Can Be: Girls Conference”

Olivia Allen: The Ten Year Old who is impacting the lives of her peers through organizing conferences and philanthropy.

At the tender age of 10 years, Olivia Allen has already positioned herself as a smart, dedicated, and compassionate philanthropist and leader who is helping tween girls to live confident lives and go after their dreams. Olivia Allen has hosted free conferences for her peers through the “I can be Girls conference”.

The conference hosts live events gives attendees a chance to look at the life of Hollywood actress who are giving back to the community as well as sharing inspiring stories of people who are dedicated to achieving their dreams. Allen was one time quoted saying that she loves giving back to the society because if she touches the life of those in the society that need her help, they will in turn also help others and it becomes a circle of making the world a better place.

olivia allenIn August 22, I can be; Girls conference, held an event with about fifty girls, aged between 8 and 12 attended the meeting with their parents. The sessions at the conference involved workshops that touched on social, physical, and psychological challenges the young girls go through in the society. The highlight of the sessions was on ways to tackle wavering self-esteem. At the conference, Olivia Allen said that she had noticed there was a decline in the morale of girls once they reached puberty.

Allen said the meeting was necessary because it aimed at helping girls boost their self-confidence once they get to puberty. Allen remarked that she wanted to uplift the confidence of her peers after admitting that she noticed a difference in her self-esteem immediately she began puberty.

Allen planned the conference on her own with the mother, Anitra Allen providing the financial assistance. The conference featured different speakers who led separate workshops that focused on turning passion into a business, personal health care, and envisioning success. Ashley D. Miller and Barbara Sexton Smith were the keynote speakers, and they addressed the conference on pursuing dreams and confidence with the Mayor of Louisville, Greg Fischer opening the conference and commending Olivia Allen for her community work.

According to her mother, this is not Allen’s first community work, she had previously held a toy drive for Kosair Charities, and also organized a food drive for the underprivileged children in her community. The confidence conference in the most recent of her community events and Olivia Allen has promised to hold another conference for the girls soon.
