We Live. We Laugh. We Love. And we enjoy winter sports like skiing and snowboarding.
Every year the National Brotherhood of Skiers brings African American ski clubs to the slopes to gather and celebrate and of course ski and snowboard or want to learn to do both.
For 40 years the National Brotherhood of Skiers has visited resorts in towns like Big Sky, Mont.; Lake Tahoe, Calif.; and, of course, Aspen, Colo. Increasing tourism and fueling the local economy.
The NBS has memberships nationwide and you may find a ski club in your city or state to join. Connecting to other African-Americans who like to ski and on the slopes brings positive images and can also help break down stereotypes while families enjoy winter sports and activities introduce more black youth to the skiing and snowboarding.
Even if you are afraid to ski or want to learn the NBS is a great way to make new friends, have a great time and travel. Great way to expose your kids to a new sport and see others like themselves blazing down the mountain at full speed!
