Michigan police officer Cleon Brown found out via a DNA test that from Ancestory.com and learned that he could trace 18% of his DNA to African regions.

After telling his fellow officers he was shocked by their behavior (really, I don’t know how he could have been shocked!!!).

The fellow officers in the Hastings Police Department started whispering black lives matters when he walked past, the chief called him “Kunte”, the character from Alex Haley’s novel “Roots: The Saga of an American Family,” and even the mayor, who has since retired was said to have cracked racist jokes and said a racial slur.

Karie Boylan has filed a lawsuit on Brown’s behalf and told CBS Detroit:

“There was an instance where my client was talking to the mayor, and the mayor ― upon learning that my client was 18 percent African-American ― proceeded to tell him a racist joke”

And these are the people who are tasked with serving and protecting us?
