The cops are not doing themselves any favors these days! A man went into the station to file an incident report and was upset that the report was not correctly filed. He was asking for it to be correctly filed and an officer came over and told him that he would create a charge to put him in jail!
Luckily for 34-year-old Duncan Hicks he caught the whole incident on video.
The deputy didn’t see the report as valid and had previously cast it off as baby mama drama according to Hicks. In the video he can be seen telling Hicks
“You know what, man? I’m getting tired of you and you’re about to go to jail, just so you know,”
“I’ll create something, you understand?” The deputy responds threateningly. “You’ll go to jail, you understand that? Recording me like that … that’s illegal without my knowledge. You want to go to jail for that, too?”
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department has launched an investigation but they confirmed it was not illegal to film employees and also reached out to Hicks and apologized.
Hicks told the Huffington Post that after the apology the department representative “told me the officer probably just had a bad day. While I appreciate the apology, that’s just an excuse. I’d like the officer to be terminated.”
