Tristan Walker’s dream is to become the next Johnson & Johnson for people of color. He made a step in the right direction by creating what is known as Bevel, which caters to the shaving needs of black men and women. Bevel helps with those unsightly razors bumps we tend to get after shaving, which affects 80% of the African American population. His goal is to provide solutions for hair and skin care issues that plague the black community. Issues that big companies have overlooked for years.
Well we are proud to announce that Walker & Company, Tristan Walker’s company, has raised $24 million to pursue his dreams. He even received money from celebrity investors like Magic Johnson, John Legend, and Andre Iguodala. He has also signed a deal with Target to sell Bevel razors in select stores and on Target.com.
He is choosing to focus on the personal care needs of the black community because those needs have gone unfulfilled for far too long. It was not easy for him to find investors because most of the people he spoke with could not relate to or didn’t see a need for the product. This product will push Walker closer to his dream while helping the black community by making products to address our personal care needs.
