BLACK HISTORY S.T.E.A.M. BINGO
INSTRUCTIONS
Bingo is a popular game of chance that is typically played with a group of people and a bingo caller. The goal of the game is to mark off images of prominent S.T.E.A.M. African Americans on your bingo card as they are called out, to complete a specific pattern or fill your entire card to win. Here are step-by-step instructions on how to play Bingo:
Materials Needed
Bingo cards
These cards contain a grid of S.T.E.A.M. African Americans arranged in columns and rows. The images and names are typically randomly generated within a specific range.

The Setup
Distribute Bingo Cards and UI Chips
Each player should receive a bingo card and the maroon UI chips.
Mark the UI-free space
In the center of each bingo card. This space is considered automatically filled at the beginning of the game.
Playing Bingo
Once the cards have been distributed, chips have been divided up, and the caller is ready to begin.
Marking the Names/Images
When the bingo caller announces a name that appears on your card, cover that person with a UI chip marker.
Pay attention
Listen closely! As soon as a name is called that is on your board, act fast to place your chip!
Winning patterns
The typical winning pattern is the straight line, horizontal, vertical or diagonal. However, to add some fun, at the start of each round you can designate a different winning pattern for the entire group.
Here are some suggested winning patterns:
Straight line
Mark off all the names in a row.
Four corners
Mark off all four corners of your card.
"X" pattern
Mark off names in an “X” shape on your card.
Full card
Mark off every name on your card.
SPECIAL WINNING PATTERNS
"U" PATTERN
Win by marking the ‘U’ shape on your card
"i" PATTERN
Mark off the entire center, top, and bottom rows
Announcing a win
If you complete the specified pattern before anyone else, shout “BINGO!” to alert the other players and the bingo caller. The game will pause briefly to verify your card.
Verification
The bingo caller will check your card to ensure that all the called names are marked correctly. If your claim is valid, you win the round.
Continue playing
If your claim is valid, the game continues with a new round. If not, the game continues until another player calls “BINGO!”.
Winning the Game
The game can continue for as many rounds as desired, with different patterns for each round. The player who first completes the specified pattern and calls out “BINGO!” wins that round. Prizes or rewards may be given to the winners.
Remember that bingo can be played with various rules and variations, so it’s a good idea to clarify the rules before starting a game to ensure everyone is on the same page. Enjoy your bingo game!
