Last week Trump declared that April National Sexual Assault Awareness and Prevention Month and this week he is defending a man against multiple claims of sexual assault.
Surprised? I guess not….
So, Fox News host Bill O’Reilly has been accused of sexual assault by multiple women. The Times reported that either O’Reilly or Fox News has paid five women around $13 million to settle claims of sexual harassment or inappropriate behavior. This has been over a course of years.
So, without any further evidence, Trump decided to make comments regarding the character of Bill O’Reilly in an interview with The New York Times on Wednesday.
Trump told the paper:
“I think he’s a person I know well — he is a good person,” Trump said on Wednesday.
“I think he shouldn’t have settled; personally, I think he shouldn’t have settled,” Trump added. “Because you should have taken it all the way. I don’t think Bill did anything wrong.”
Really Trump? This is not presidential behavior. Trump previously made similar comments when former Fox News chief Roger Ailes was facing a sexual abuse scandal in July 2016.
Advertisers are scarpering and leaving the O’Reilly factor in droves after these allegations came to light.
