The NFL knew about the abuse going on in the Brown household due to the numerous visits from police to the Brown residence. His punishment for abusing his now ex-wife was a one game suspension. The new domestic violence policy stipulates a six game suspension for the first offense, so why did Josh Brown only receive a one game suspension?
Well the excuse the NFL used for only giving Brown a one game suspension was that his ex-wife would not cooperate with the NFL investigation. Although there is proof of at least one physical encounter between the two where Brown was arrested. So whether they have proof of one or twenty physical altercations the first of offense is supposed to result in a six game suspension. Therefore there still is no legitimate reason for Brown’s one game suspension when other players like Ray Rice and Greg Hardy have had to sit out for or more games.
And now racial bias has reared its ugly little head again. There is no justifiable reason for Brown to have a one game suspension when the minimum has been set at six games, except the fact that he is white. His said Brown was physical with her more than twenty times and on at least one of those occasions he was arrested. Therefore Brown meets the qualifications for a six game suspension, his wife not participating in the NFL investigation is an excuse for his slap on the wrist. Ray Rice was suspended indefinitely until he appealed his suspension. Now talk to me about Equal Employment Opportunities.
