You know there is a problem when you can poison hundreds maybe even thousands of children and no action is taken.

Well the President did sign an emergency declaration making federal emergency aid available to Michigan residents. But what I mean by no action being taken is why isn’t the Governor, Mayor, Alderman or someone in jail or being prosecuted?

Someone outside of the residents had to know about the water was contaminated.

Lead poisoning hasn’t been a major issue since the 80’s and 90’s. This is completely unacceptable. My main question is what type of compensation will these victims be offered. The city changed their water supplier in 2014 to save money but in the end this may end up costing them.
Lead poisoning usually occurs over months or years.

It is most harmful to children because their brains and nervous systems have not fully developed. It can lead to loss of developmental skills in children, memory loss, and kidney dysfunction just to name a few. Damage from lead poisoning cannot be reserved but can be treated.

It’s great that water and water filters are being distributed to residents for free BUT at the latest they found out about this in October, it is January. Why did it take so long for someone to take action? Now the local police and National Guard are helping in the efforts but what about the children that have test positive for high levels of exposure to lead. And what about the 10 people that have died from pneumonia which some are speculating is linked to the contaminated water.
