New Serena Williams Gatorade Commercial Will Give You Chills with Her Closing Response (Video)

You may have heard the news, Serena Williams is a pretty good tennis player. Ok, the truth is she may be one of the best female athletes of all time when her career is said and done, but this new Gatorade Commercial will definitely give you chills.

The commercial is part of a mural project called Gatorade’s “Serena 21” art series. It was designed in honor of her 21 Grand Slam championships and is located on the corner of Kent Ave and Grand Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. (designed by from Overall Murals)

serena williams posing with trophyThis on the heels of Serena winning her 50th match of the year and advancing to the 3rd round of the US Open. If she wins the US Open, then she would have won the calendar Grand Slam, winning all the titles in the same calendar year. This hasn’t been done since Steffi Graf did it in 1988.

In the Gatorade commercial, Serena is being interviewed by a reporter when she was just a child.

“If you were a tennis player, who would you want to be like?” a reporter asks Serena Williams as a young girl in Compton to open the commercial.

Then, the moving commercial shows highlights and footage of her life and career. It showcases her victories, as well as battles.

At the end of the commercial, the audio of the reporter asking, “If you were a tennis player, who would you want to be like?”

“Well, I’d like other people to be like me,” a young Williams says.
