DYK? Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’ Continues to Reign as Highest Certified Album in U.S. History

People of all ages, backgrounds, economic stations and geographical locations love the music of Michael Jackson. And despite all his record sells and celebrated musical accomplishments, you may not be aware of his dominance in the industry as the King of Pop.

The Michael Jackson ‘Thriller’ album continues to hit records numbers in terms of sales. It is the largest certified album in US history, 33 times the platinum, according to the Recording Industry Association of America. An amazing achievement in the modern music era when records are bootlegged, copied and downloaded with ease.

Since it was released in 1982, it has sold 33 million units of equivalent albums, including digital purchases.

A plate commemorating this historic certification was unveiled at the home of the president of Epic Records, Antonio “L.

A.” Reid.

However, it is only sales in the USA, according to Sony and Jackson-owned sources, sales reached 105 million worldwide.
