Kendrick Lamar is all I can say! This man went out there and gave zero fucks about what your “typical” American would say or think and put on a performance for his people! Just from the intro he had me. “You never liked us anyway, fuck your friendship I meant it…your plan is to terminate my culture…you know you’re evil…I want you recognize I’m a proud monkey…as we proceed to give you what you need!” The message was so pure, uncensored and screamed the truth. Although most of the world choses to live in denial about the way society treats black people the signs are clear as the sun is bright that nothing has changed since slavery.

They gave this man 5 minutes and he used every minute to make sure his message was heard. “We gon be alright” is already powerful but that intro took it to a whole new level. I’m so happy I didn’t boycott the Oscars, so happy he took this opportunity to drill in his message.

Thank you for letting them know what real hip hop is supposed to sound like, every black face that they zoomed in on in the crowd was smiling and proud.

I’m still on charge about this performance. This man definitely deserves several standing ovations!
