Fox News is notorious for producing misinformation but, this time, they’ve taken things to a new level of hilarity. Fox News praised former President Barack Obama for new job creation in January thinking that it was done under Trump’s administration. Anchor Heather Nauert cited the January report produced by the Bureau of Labor Statistics that printed that 227,000 new jobs were created last month

“Great news on the job front this morning. The president would call this huge!”
Several experts, most notebly Washington Post fact checker Glenn Kessler, quickly debunked the Fox News Report. Kessler brought up that Barack Obama was still president before January 20th, with the data being collected on January 12th. Alternative facts anybody?
I don’t expect Fox News to be ethical but spinning President Obama’s job report is a new type of low. It’s SO easy to debunk! All they’re doing is creating new talking points for white supremacists to troll and agitate us with, derailing productive dialogue. I struggle to comprehend what Trump could even do in the small window that he was allotted between his inauguration and the end of January that would even remotely effect job creation. This is a textbook example of how Obama was never given a fair shot by the far right media. I bet they’ll say that Trump is the pioneer of marriage equality this week. Who knows, they might give him credit for signing off on the murder of Obama Bin Laden. These alternative facts are starting to look like propaganda weapons aren’t they?
