EXPOSED: NYPD Infiltrated Black Lives Matter Protests And Leaked Plans

by | Apr 6, 2017 | News | 0 comments

The Guardian has made claims with obtained documents that undercover NYPD officers posed as protesters and infiltrated the Black Lives Matter organisers, reading and leaking internal organizer text messages.

During 2014-2015, a time when the death of Eric Garner was being protested, the documents seem to show that groups as small as seven people were being monitored and messages were being read to keep tabs on activity, meetups and protests.

Elsa Waithe, a Black Lives Matter organizer, told The Guardian:

“That text loop was definitely just for organizers, I don’t know how that got out,”

“Someone had to have told someone how to get on it, probably trusting someone they had seen a few times in good faith. We clearly compromised ourselves.”

The NYPD are yet to respond and you can get more details in The Guardian here.
