The full ability of young men and boys of color is unrealized. With the fundamental literacy skills and language, men of color are less likely to attend kindergarten which is required for success.

A high percentage of black American male youth participate in the criminal justice practice for a lack of men in their lives.

This is one reason I like the President’s My Brother’s Keeper program. It is addressing a basic need in the community and doing something tangible about it.

The program was established by the Obama administration in 2014 to resolve the problem of black kids not attending high school, getting and keeping them on the right track.

The program was fundamentally created to concentrate on the risk factors, critical challenges, and opportunities for young men and boys of color at primary life stages.

The program will help to improve their ability to contribute to the country’s economic mobility, competitiveness, civil society, growth and long-term outcomes as mentioned by President Obama.

For this reason, the task force created success mentors program to help young men and boys of color to get the best in life.

The program started with ten cities participating. Mentors, teachers and helpers are primarily people who are already connected to the school.

This approach has helped to lower the rate of absenteeism by eighteen percent.
