Recently, world-wide known entertainer, Chris Brown, confessed in an interview to the British publication, The Guardian, to having his first sexual experience at 8 years old:

chris-brown-accident-victim-statement-665x385He lost his virginity when he was eight years old to a local girl who was 14 or 15. “Yeah, really, uh-huh.” He grins and chuckles. “It’s different in the country.

” Brown grew up with a gang of boy cousins and they watched so much porn that he was raring to go. “By that point, we were already kind of like hot to trot; you know what I’m saying? Like, girls, we weren’t afraid to talk to them; I wasn’t afraid. So, at eight, being able to do it, it kind of preps you for the long run, so you can be a beast at it. You can be the best at it.”

Even though this is a shocker to some, this is nothing new in the black community but it has been kept in the dark, until now. Most eight years are not watching porn, let alone so much that they feel like it’s given them confidence to actually do the act. And in the U.S., letting a child watch porn is a form of child abuse.

I would be shocked by Chris Brown’s statement; if it wasn’t the first time I had ever heard something like that.

I spoke to two male friends who told me about their first sexual experiences. One, we’ll call him Bryan*, told me he lost his virginity to a 20 year old woman, when he was 11 years old. The second, we’ll call him Blake*, said he lost his virginity at 13 to an 18 year old woman. Both men, like Chris Brown, saw it as a normal thing for a boy to do because it prepares them for sex later in their lives.

Now, if the roles were reversed and these were 11 and 13 year old girls, the articles would read completely different. It would be a rape investigation with the young girl being traumatized and being told that she will always have issues with her future relationships because of it.

Now why is the view of the same act seen differently because they’re boys?

In hindsight, this may explain the actions and state of mind of many young, black males whom have no respect for themselves or women.

Why is male-child rape acceptable?
