One more time Hank Aaron enters the record books, but this time it has nothing to do with his talent on the baseball field, involves his wife Billye, and underscores their commitment to the future of the black community.

Hank and Billye Aaron put their money where their mouth is this week by donating million dollars to the Morehouse School of Medicine, one of the finest institutions in the country.

All 159 freshmen medical students participated in the ceremony, the largest freshmen class in the school’s history. There are a total of 458 students.

Aaron commented on the gift….

[ADSENSE2]“Like our family, MSM has a true commitment to the Georgia community,” Hank Aaron said Friday. “We are happy to partner in creating a facility that welcomes and educates the next generation of doctors, health care professionals and leaders for the communities we hold so dear. It is fitting that the pavilion holds my wife’s name because of her long-held commitment to education and this dedicated school’s special place in her heart.”

The Aaron family lives in the Atlanta area and have always believed in the institution known as Morehouse School of Medicine. Their donation will be put to good use and is much appreciated by the school, students and community.

“This exceptionally generous gift is an enduring legacy of two people who clearly care about the future of medicine, science and the health and wellness of the Georgia community and the nation,” said President and Dean Montgomery Rice.
