KRS1: I Decided to be Free Instead of an Industry Slave [Video]

by | Jun 27, 2014 | Culture | 0 comments

Historically, one of my favor rappers, hip hop stars have always been KRS One. As his acronym states, Knowledge Reigns Supreme and so does his insight when it comes to the music industry and life.

Here is a quick video of KRS-ONE talking about how artist have to make a choice to either be free or a slave to the industry. But he warns that if you choose to be free, then it means you will never be able to play in the mainstream. The mainstream is only interested in destructive music that will only tear down our communities and perpetuate nonsense, violence and ignorance.

He goes on to let the people know he chose FREEDOM!

He also goes on to talk about how Funkmaster Flex and Angie Martinez sold him out by not playing his music.  Basically, they sided with the corporations and money over substance.
