Florida Elementary School Teacher Calls Black Students ‘Rats’ that ‘Infest’ the Classroom

A Florida elementary school teacher who called her black students “rats” that infest in the classroom has yet to be fired. As a black mother with black children it doesn’t just make me angry, it hurts to know that people like this have access to our children. If she would say this about the children, could you imagine how she’s treating them?

Jordan Cataldo, a teacher at Carter G. Woodson Elementary, made these remarks and more. Tiera Ross, a Carter G. Woodson parent reported Ross’ comments in May. Stating the teacher said, “They’re only going to amount to be a bunch of ratchet Walmart workers…that’s why their race is either in jail or dead.” The school administration found enough evidence to substantiate the claim and take further action.

No action has been taken yet due to the fact that children are no longer in school they are waiting until the Fall to take action. They have given no word as to what type of punishment being a racist working with children you hate holds but given the fact that they’re waiting until the Fall, leads me to believe they don’t plan on firing her.

If they do not fire her let’s hope parents make her so uncomfortable she decides to quit. Why work with children you carry a deep rooted hatred for? Go find a predominantly white elementary school to work for.
