Steve Hightower did an extraordinary thing, however to him, it was always going to happen as he always knew what he wanted!

After helping in his parents cleaning business he carried on in that line of work while in college and worked nights and weekends as a janitor.

But he knew that wasn’t his destiny

“I started as a janitor. I started cleaning floors and toilets and doing those things that most people would never even dream of doing,”

“I wanted more.”

After graduating Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, in 1978, he started a small construction business but had problems accessing credit.

“When people ask me would I ever have imagined I would be where I am today? Absolutely,” Hightower told CNBC.

Then he learned about a problem to sell gas in Ohio. He started an oil and gas selling company in 1981 and initially had slow growth but kept pushing!

Now Hightowers Petroleum, has 85 employees and sells 140 million gallons of oil per year!
