So Trump’s firing of FBI Director James Comey is being compared to an act by Richard Nixon and comparisons to Watergate are being talked about everywhere!

Nixon ordered his first attorney general, then the dep att gen to fire special prosecutor Archibald Cox.

Cox was investigating Nixon in the Watergate scandal.

This became known as the infamous 1973 Saturday Night Massacre.

HOWEVER he resigned instead. Cox was ultimately fired by by Nixon’s solicitor general, Robert Bork.

And the Richard Nixon Library wanted to straighten out the facts and let us know, regarding Trump, that not even Nixon did that!

They tweeted:

FUN FACT: President Nixon never fired the Director of the FBI #FBIDirector #notNixonian pic.twitter.com/PatArKOZlk
