University Goes On ‘Active Shooter’ Lockdown Over Black Student Carrying A Glue Gun!

A nearly 4 hour lockdown happened at upstate New York’s Colgate University college on Monday evening after it was reported that a black man was carrying a gun! It was true, he was carrying a gun…. A glue gun for a project.

A student called campus safety and alerted them that a black man had been seen with a gun.

Students were then notified of a “dangerous situation in the Coop” and were told to “to leave the building.”

Social media alerts ensued saying there was an “armed person at the Coop” and law enforecement searched campus.

It took 4 hours to identify that the incident had stemmed from a black male student using a glue gun for a project. He was probably outside along with everyone else scared witless!

Colgate University President Brian W. Casey issued this statement about the absurd event that he said was a “profound error” with “implicit racial bias.”. He will present a further report within 10 days.

Students reacted across social media.

Miranda Robles said:
“I am glad things did not turn out to be as bad as we thought,… However, this is extremely problematic and absurd.”

And student Tolu Emokpae said:

“As an African American male, this shows me that I really cannot simply live,… beginning to question everything about my choice in school. How embarrassed I am to call myself a Colgate student at the moment, hope that changes.”

And another wrote:

“We spent all night on lockdown fearing for our lives because a young black man was doing an art project. This is racism – this is Colgate,”
