7 Reasons I’m Still Optimistic About The Future Of The Black Community. Are You?

by | Jan 16, 2014 | Blog

Let’s face it, the future of the black community doesn’t look good. You can speak with just about anyone about their optimism for the black community’s future and it will seem rather bleak. Luckily for us, these opinions have no power on our future, but we do have a lot of work to do.

I admit I can be one of those people that tend to come down hard on the black community. Unless you knew me personally, you probably think I’m not to enthusiastic about where we are going. However, this wouldn’t be the case. In fact, i’m very BULLISH or optimistic on the future of the black community….and here is why.

7 Reasons I’m Still Optimistic About The Future Of The Black Community

pharoahsLet’s jump into the reasons, I love the black community and am still very optimistic about where we are going. Admittedly, the turn around might not happen in my lifetime, but it is coming nonetheless.

We Are A Resilient People

No discussion on the future of the black community can start without peering into our history. As you know, the last 500 years have not been the best. We have lost our position of prominence on the planet, been enslaved, raped, tortured, separate from our families, mentally destroyed, yet we are still here.

Clearly, we are a resilient people and have seen far worst than the position we find ourselves in today.

With that bit of insight in mind, I can’t help but be optimistic about our future. The black community will bounce back and return to a place of prominence in this world. There is no doubt in my mind. It just might take longer than our lifetime to do it, but it will happen.

The Youth Isn’t Afraid

The adults in the black community might have the knowledge and understanding that we are in a difficult place, but the youth is still naive enough to think we have wonderful opportunities in the future. This is cause to be optimistic because they will continue to fight, grow and do what is necessary to thrive.

I can really be tough on the youth, but they are our future and i’m optimistic about them overall. It is going to take a while to overcome the media propaganda, hip hop, materialistic, selfish ways that is being driven into them, but it will happen.

STEM Is The Future And Our Past

[ADSENSE2]

There is much concern in the black community when it comes to the state of our STEM programs with good reason. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, STEM, is clearly the future of world and every other community on the planet are aggressively pursuing programs to educate their youth in these areas.

Many of the jobs and opportunities of the future will be in the STEM fields. We don’t seem to as aggressively pursuing these opportunities.

However, the black community historically has dominated the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. We are the creators of most of the advancements in these fields the world has ever seen. Therefore, at the core of our people we have the ability to dominate these fields.

I have no reason to believe we won’t return to proper glory in these fields. Once our collective consciousness is awakened, we will prepare to return to prominence in these fields. I am optimistic.

The Black Community Is Breaking The Psychological Chains Of Slavery

The black community is slowly awakening from their collective slumber. People are realizing the mental twist, mind games, and appalling actions that have been done to the black community and getting sick and tired of it.

The rise of technology and wide dissemination of information is causing this. Thanks to YouTube, Facebook Groups, email, twitter, a wide variety of other social media outlets, physical groups, and organizations, people are getting the messages that resonate with them. This leads them to do more reading, researching and discovering of the what has happened to their black community and what is happening currently.

These are powerful times and I believe it is only going to grow, enlighten and empower more people in the black community. This will lead to more of the next reason, Uniting.

Worldwide The Black Community Is Uniting

You might not see it in the ignorance stricken areas the media focus their attention, but the black community is uniting. There is no denying it. We are breaking down barriers, reaching across countries and uniting. We are realizing we are all in this together and need to start sharing our resources, spending power, and effort with one another.

It is becoming increasingly more apparent to the black community worldwide no one is going to save us. We must save ourselves and unifying is the only way to go about this. I’m optimistic about the future of the black community.

The Spirit Of The Ancestors Is With Us

Many in the black community have a strong spiritual faith. Regardless of your denomination or even if they are atheist, their belief, faith, and respect for the ancestors is unwavering.

We understand we stand on the shoulders of the ancestors who created a great example of how to build a civilization, endure its fall, and left a blueprint for its resurrection. It will happen because we feel the weight and responsibility to reclaim the legacy of the ancestors. I’m optimistic.

We Will Return To Glory

Bottom line, the black community will return to glory. Period. Point Blank. It is our destiny. It is our birthright. It is our future.

I’m optimistic in the future of the black community, are you?
