Zoe Saldana Says She Is Color-Blind And Gender-Blind BUT WHY?

ZZoe Saldana has said some stuff here and there that has raised eyebrows. Such as when she said that Hollywood bullies Donald Trump and that created empathy leading to him winning (she didn’t say she actually supports Trump), now she is saying something that will certainly irk a few more people.

She said she doesn’t see color…. or gender, in a way! But of course there is a little more to it.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph she said that she was a sci-fi buff and that she likes being in sci-fi movies because “you get to play characters who defy gravity.”

She went onto say:

“It makes me feel superhuman because, obviously, it’s been brought to my attention continuously since I was born that I’m not a conventional person because of the color of my skin or my gender or my cultural background.”

“I think science fiction has given me the ability as an artist to be color blind, and gender-blind… and to imagine and reinvent myself and be the chameleon actors are supposed to be,”

She said that she loved sci-fi strong women heroins as a child and that:

“I love Aliens, I love The Terminator – Sarah Connor and Ellen Ripley were the only action heroines I could identify with growing up,”

Saldana has been in a lot of sci-fi now from Avatar to Star Trek and Guardians of the Galaxy.

I think I get at what she is saying in these comments and maybe she actually means the opposite of what it sounds like.

What do you think?
