Chicago police are looking for five or six men or boys after the kidnapping and rape of a 15-year-old girl was posted to Facebook Live.
The police department’s spokesperson Anthony Guglielmi said that around 40 people saw the Facebook Live video and none of them reported it to the police.
It was the girl’s mother, Stacey Elkins, who contacted police after friends and family contacted her. She took screengrabs of the video to police which showed the teen in various states of undress and being treated absusively.
She told CBS:
“I saw her face and the look on her face was just pure fear. And I, I just want my daughter home,”
The police managed to find the teen and reunite her with her mother yesterday. They are now trying to find the owner of the facebook page and the other people involved.
