Your girl Sarah Palin is back shoving her foot in her mouth. But this time, she is refusing to take it out.
Standing firm by her words to compare the national debt to slavery, a defiant Sarah Palin sat down with CNN’s Jake Tapper to discuss what many saw as poor wording choice. However, Palin let it be know that she didn’t feel the words were those of poor wording, but dead on with what she meant.
In the interview Palin said, “I can, if they choose to misinterpret what it is that I’m saying. And again, you know, I’m sure if we open up a dictionary, we could prove… that there is a definition of slavery that absolutely fits the bill there.”
Tapper gave Palin several opportunities to back away from the statement, but she wasn’t biting. Even when presented with the perspective that many African Americans might take issue with the word choice, Palin still insisted on standing by her words.
To me, this just goes to prove she doesn’t give a damn about you black folks out there. Her perspective, would be policies and initiatives do not take you into consideration. If they did, she wouldn’t make insensitive remarks that might offend you. And if she did happen to make suck a remark, she would be quick to adjust the wording to make every one at ease.
However, Palin and many other in the political spectrum do not like you or have any plans for you in their future. In fact, opportunities like these to double down against black people are a boost to their campaign and donation efforts as they are able to stand in front of constituencies that 100% agree with the sentiment behind Palin’s words.
We have a lot of work to do, black community, and we need to unite and do it together. No one can hold us back if we are working together, so I suggest we get off our high horses and get to work because no one else has anything good planned for us.
