It’s been two and a half years since Michael Brown, a black 18-year-old, was shot and killed by a white police officer in Ferguson, Mo.
The very public case had the police trying their hardest to paint a picture of Michael and put the police into an innocent position. Part of the smear campaign included security footage from convenience store that showed Michael allegedly robbing a convenience store, in the video he appears to push a worker and grab a bag of cigarillos mere minutes before his fatal shooting.
However, a new video, from the same store, earlier that day, has come to light that appears to challenge the police narrative of a violent armed robbery.
According to documentary film maker Jason Pollock the tape shows Brown exchanging a small baggie of marijuana in exchange for a bag of cigarillos. He leaves them behind the counter for safe keeping and leaves the store.
Lawyers for the convenuence store heavily deny this…. My question is, like yours I am sure, what does the tape show then?
Lesley McSpadden, Mr. Brown’s mother, says in Mr. Pollock’s documentary Stranger Fruit:
“There was some type of exchange, for one thing, for another,”
The new documentary looks at the shooting from the perspective of the family.
